What to Include in Your Message

Help us help you faster by including the right details. Here's what we need depending on your reason for contacting us:

Bug Report

  • What you did (step by step)
  • What you expected to happen
  • What actually happened
  • Your browser and device (e.g., "Chrome 120 on iPhone 15")
  • A screenshot if possible

Feature Request

  • What feature you'd like
  • Why it would be useful (your use case)
  • Any examples of how other tools handle it

General Question

  • Your question clearly stated
  • What you've already tried
  • Your country/region (if relevant to labor law context)

Partnership / Business Inquiry

  • Your name and organisation
  • Nature of the inquiry
  • Your website or relevant background

Use a Clear Subject Line

Using a descriptive subject line helps us prioritise and route your message correctly. Here are some examples:

Bug: Overtime not calculating correctly Feature: Add night shift differential Question: How does break deduction work? Bug: PDF export shows wrong dates Partnership: Integration inquiry Legal Notice: DMCA takedown request Feedback: Love the new dark mode

For legal notices (DMCA, cease-and-desist, subpoena), please use the subject line "Legal Notice — WorkHoursCalculator" to ensure it's flagged and handled with appropriate priority.

Please Do Not Send

To protect both you and us, please do not include any of the following in your email:

National Insurance numbers or any government ID numbers
Bank account details or payment card information
Passwords for any account or service
Full address and date of birth together
Details of ongoing legal cases or tribunal proceedings
Spam, promotions, or link exchanges — we ignore these

We are not a secure channel. Email is not encrypted end-to-end. If you need to share sensitive information with a professional (solicitor, accountant, HMRC), contact them directly through their secure channels — not through us.

Frequently Asked Questions

You might find your answer faster here — these are the questions we get most often.

No. We provide a self-service tool that you use to calculate your own estimates. We don't have access to your employer's pay rates, your tax code, your pension arrangements, or any of the other variables needed to calculate exact net pay. For a precise figure, consult your employer's payroll department or a qualified accountant.

We can't provide legal advice or act on your behalf, but we can suggest resources. In the UK, contact the Acas Helpline (0300 123 1100) for free confidential advice. You can also contact Citizens Advice or consult an employment solicitor. Our calculator may help you estimate what you're owed, but it shouldn't be used as evidence on its own.

We're a small, independent project — not a company with a support department. Email allows us to respond thoughtfully and on our own schedule without the overhead of chat systems or phone lines. It also keeps our costs near zero, which is part of why the tool stays free.

Almost certainly, yes. We take bug reports seriously and prioritise anything that affects calculation accuracy. Please email us with the details described above (what you did, what happened, your browser/device, and ideally a screenshot). We can't promise an immediate fix, but we'll investigate and aim to resolve it in a timely update.

We're open to feature requests and many of our current features came from user suggestions. However, we deliberately keep the calculator generic rather than hard-coding specific jurisdiction rules — because labor laws change, vary by industry, and have exceptions that a simple tool can't model accurately. We'd rather be honestly generic than misleadingly specific.

First, please check your spam/junk folder — our replies sometimes end up there. If it's been more than 5 business days, send a follow-up email referencing your original message. We read everything, but occasional delays can happen due to volume or personal schedules. We will never intentionally ignore a genuine message.

We're selective about any sponsorship or advertising to ensure it doesn't compromise the user experience. If you represent a relevant, reputable brand and are interested in a non-intrusive placement, email us with details about your product/service and your proposed arrangement. We'll consider it if it aligns with our values.

Not currently. The calculator is designed as a standalone web tool. If you have a specific integration use case, feel free to describe it in your email — if there's enough demand, we may consider building an embeddable version or API in the future.
